most expensive basketball card
all you baseball fans i have thousands of old ?80’s cards, live in ill. want to get rid of know nothing?

baseball, basketball, and football cards most very good condition some got wet been in large boxes for years, don’t know whats there or value of any. looking for someone to give good deal on entire collection. decatur ill. area. shipping would be expensive and don’t want that.

Unfortunately the 80’s is not considered ‘old’ in the Baseball Card world. In the 1980’s card collecting became hot and the card companies began really increasing the print runs. Even the biggest of rookies (Clemens, Gwynn, Ripken etc…) are usually available in Near Mint condition for around $30 on ebay. Commons and minor stars have to be sold in bulk to realize any significant return.

That being said Basketball is an exception. If you have 1986 Fleer Basketball Cards (with the red white and blue borders) you could be sitting on a gold mine. The Michael Jordan rookie in this set can sell for up to $1,000 (even more if it is professionally graded) and many of the cards in that set are worth $20 – $30 apiece.

Football falls somewhere in between. In Football the key cards from this era are the Joe Montana, Marino, Elway and Rice Rookie Cards. They range in price from $200 or so for the Montana, $100ish for the Marino and Elway, and $50 for the Rice.

Realize of course the cards I listed are the absolute cream of the crop for the era and most cards from the 80’s are worth pennies.
